Revive! Refresh! Rejoice! A Lutheran Revival will be on Sunday Oct. 5, 2-6:30pm @ Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Warrenton.  Every year, this awesome faith formation event for our conference gets better!  This year’s theme is God’s People in Partnership.  Registration is at 2pm, excellent workshops at 2:30pm, delicious meal at 4pm, and Spirit-filled Worship at 5pm.  Mark your calendar now- you won’t want to miss it!
A bit about our preacher for the day:
 
Rev. Leila Ortiz is a doctoral candidate at The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia and Associate Pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gaithersburg, MD.

What: A new photo directory!

Who: Everyone in our church community- even friends and family are welcome to come have their professional portrait taken for free.  Pets are even welcome if you choose!

When: Friday, August 15th from 2-9pm and Saturday, August 16th from 10am-5pm

Where: St. Luke Lutheran Church

Why: Every family gets a free 8X10 portrait, and more importantly our church gets an up-to-date directory to strengthen our community

We will be having an outdoor service at Mountain Run Lake Park on June 29th!  Service will be held at our normal time of 10am, but there will not be a service at our regular location.  So don’t forget!Image

After service, please bring a side dish to share for a great picnic and fun together!  Yard games and comfortable clothes are welcome!

We will be under a picnic pavilion, so this event is rain or shine.

May God’s blessing be with Pastor Jim Riley, former pastor of St. Luke Lutheran Church.  Pastor Riley’s last services will be on June 29th at St. John in Martinsburg, WV.  Thanks be to God for his many wonderful years of ministry!

Seeking a Choir Director to help grow our music ministry!

St. Luke Lutheran Church, Culpeper, VA, is seeking a talented team player to fill a new Choir/ Music Director position. An ability to work with people of all ages, openness and flexibility, and a desire to enhance worship through music are essentials.
The Choir Director will work closely with the Pastor and Organist to plan worship, direct Choir practice, and help lead worship. Culpeper Fireman’s Parade 05/22

St. Luke’s will be part of the parade on Thursday, May 22rd.  We will meet at the Food Lion / Tractor Supply parking lot at 5:30.  Volunteers are needed to ride on the float and walk along side, passing out bookmarks and brochures about St. Luke’s Church and our “Under Construction” VBS.  If you are interested in participating, contact Lori Newsom or Bobbie Hartman.

Learning to tap into your creativity can be the beginning of a healing journey. Meet others who share the experience of grief or illness but also the desire to begin a journey towards joy again. 2014 VBS Registration OPEN!

Registration for Vacation Bible School 2014 is now open!

 

Put on your hard hat and grab your hammer!  St. Luke’s VBS is going “Under Construction!”  from July 13-17, from 5:30-8:30pm.   Each evening will begin with a light dinner.   We have a great week of fun, faith, crafts, songs, and snacks planned for kids from 3 years old to 6th grade to learn about faith and serving others.  Older youth are welcome as volunteers!

This great curriculum is brought to us by Habitat for Humanity, and some of our projects will benefit their work.  We can’t wait for you to join our “Building site!”
